About Kenworthy Electric Inc.
Kenworthy Electric Inc. was founded in 1996 by Dan Kenworthy, owner and president of Kenworthy Electric Inc. Dan purchased the business from his parents who originally started the company under the name, Mile Hi Electric (founded in 1972). Dan’s dedication to maintain the standard of quality and workmanship that would be expected of a third generation electrician never fails to shine through. Through the years, this business, as well as all of the electrical industry, has seen many changes. Through these changes, we strive to accept and adapt. We continue to look for and adopt new products and ideas to make our homes and surroundings safe, economical and enjoyable.
Owner & President
After graduating from Butte Central High School, Dan pursued an education at Butte Vo-Tech (currently Montana Tech College of Technology). There he received a 2 year degree in Welding Technology, which landed him his first job as an electrician outside of his father’s business. He worked at the Golden Sunlight Mine as a welder for the electrical crew on a construction project. In his early working days, Dan tried his hand at many different professions including being a truck driver, equipment operator, signman, welder, laborer, and even as a janitor.
Mary is our longest lasting employee, actually one of the original founders of the company. As the saying goes "No job is finished until the paper work is done." This is the one person that finishes every job we do. Her job duties are too immense to list here but some of them are bookkeeping, payroll, billing, keeping the boss on task (one of her hardest tasks) and answering the phone-which can be a full-time duty in itself some days. We are very lucky to have such a devoted person on our team. Even though she lives in the office (literally) she still finds time for knitting, cooking, sewing, gardening, and family-which could be a full-time pursuit as she has five children, 10 grandchildren, and the great grandchildren just keep coming.
Bryan joined the Kenworthy Electric Inc. team in the winter of 2015 and has he been a great asset to our company. After completing an ABC apprenticeship in another state and tired of the rat race of the city life, he and his wife decided to make the move to SW Montana and are we ever glad he did. Bryan brings with him many skills besides his electrical duties such as equipment operating, welding and mechanical abilities. When not working Bryan enjoys hunting, fishing, backpacking and just about anything else in the outdoor setting along with his wife and their 3 dogs.
